Athens is the ideal
TEFL course location for those
who enjoy the bustle of the big city, opportunities for sightseeing,
and vibrant nightlife. Whatever the time of year, spending a month
here while taking the TEFL course is a great way to immerse yourself in
the life and history of this fabulous city. Many people come to
Athens
for a short trip and end up staying a lifetime.
Athens is one of the world's oldest
cities, a center for the arts, learning and philosophy widely
referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace
of democracy. And in addition to its own countless attractions,
Athens is the perfect base for touring Greece. With the port of
Pireaus just half an hour away, Athens is also the gateway to the
beauty and magic of the Greek islands.

The TEFL Athens
training centre is based in a
private school of English, so there's no need to travel off-site for
teaching practice. Teaching practice is with classes of children and
teenagers at all levels from Elementary to Advanced, and lessons
with adults can also be provided. The school is modern and
well-equipped, and all classrooms have interactive whiteboards.
The training centre is based in the Polyglosso school of languages
in central Athens, just two kilometres from the Acropolis. There are
excellent public transportation links, including a tram stop right
by the school and a metro station less than five minutes' walk away.

We
recommend a range of
accommodation in Athens, so you can choose whatever suits your
taste and budget, with generous discounts from our recommended
accommodation providers. Special rates offered by hostels and hotels
make these much more affordable than the usual tourist rates, and
shared apartments are an even more economical alternative.
Most of the accommodation that we recommend is within the Syntagma -
Plaka - Acropolis area where all the main tourist sights are
concentrated, and from which the school can easily be reached in no
more than fifteen minutes.
For full details, see the
TEFL Athens website. |
